Downtown Orlando Remodel

The kitchen in this charming house in downtown Orlando had been through previous remodels since it was built in 1928. When our clients purchased the home for their young family, they knew they immediately wanted to update the space so it would function better for them and reflect their style, while staying true to the house’s historic aesthetic. The new kitchen features white cabinetry on the perimeter and a contrasting island in a moody gray finish, which we repeated on the eye-catching range hood. The backsplash tile is a modern take on traditional subway tile with its sparkling finish and stacked pattern, and its reflective nature works so well in this light-filled room. The Kohler Prolific sink adds function with its interchangeable accessories (cutting board insert shown) that create multiple configurations ideal for prepping, serving and washing. Capturing the space to the right of the kitchen that was part of the home’s original dining room, we added a built-in quartz-topped seating area that connects to the kitchen island. The former blank wall to the right of the space was treated to a stunning bar area that is the perfect spot to set a buffet or whip up some morning coffee or an evening cocktail.
