KBF Wins First Place at Parade of Homes Orlando 2022

KBF Design Gallery Wins First Place at the 2022 Orlando Parade of Homes

The Firm Receives Top Marks in Bathroom Design and Remodeling for their Entry “Luxurious Owner’s Retreat”

ORLANDO, FLA. – July 28, 2022– Central Florida home design and remodeling firm, KBF Design Gallery, won first place in the 69th Annual Parade of Homes Orlando for their entry in the ‘Design Specialty” category. The Greater Orlando Building Association (GOBA) holds the Parade of Homes to showcase Central Florida’s most inspiring designers, remodelers and home builders. The Parade is a cost-free and self-guided tour that’s open to the public and draws thousands of attendees each year.

The Parade of Homes ‘Design Specialty’ category looks exclusively at design and building excellence in kitchens and bathrooms in both new construction and existing homes. This marks the second year that KBF Design Gallery has participated in the Parade of Homes and their second consecutive win. The firm’s principals, Adam Vellequette and Ashley Sheaffer, are grateful to have KBF’s work be recognized by the judges once again. “The level of talent in the design-to-build industry in Central Florida area is incredibly strong, which makes this award even more meaningful to us. We have so much respect and admiration for all our fellow Parade participants,” says Sheaffer.

“We’re thankful to the Greater Orlando Builders Association for their commitment to rewarding the very best in homebuilding, remodeling, and design,” adds Vellequette. “It’s an honor to have our work win such praise, but all the credit goes to our phenomenal team at KBF.”

KBF’s winning entry was a complete redesign and remodel of a large bathroom that had an awkward layout and dated features. Reimagining the entire space, KBF’s team moved walls to create the most functional, light-filled, and aesthetically pleasing layout for their client. In the new design, a double door entry reveals the focal point of the renovated space: a freestanding tub with floor-to-ceiling tile and deep niche shelving on each side. The Parade of Homes judging panel identified the soaking tub area as the space’s “Outstanding Feature.” An expansive walk-in shower with dual shower heads and bench seating offers the homeowner a luxurious, spa-like experience, while a custom floating vanity with bookend linen cabinet towers provides ample storage. A soft white and gray palette is accentuated with contrasting warm wood and champagne bronze fixtures and hardware.

“The Parade is a great way to show people what’s possible in their existing homes through remodeling,” explains Sheaffer. “We’re already thinking about which exciting projects we’ll enter in next year’s Parade!”
