DeLand Kitchen Remodel

Every kitchen remodel begins with the opportunity to reimagine how a space can better support everyday life. In this DeLand, Florida kitchen remodel, our team at KBF Design Gallery transformed a layout that felt underutilized into a bright, functional, and welcoming gathering space.

Parade of Homes · First Place · 2026This is the kitchen the judges put first — first place, Single Room / Living Space, at the 2026 Parade of Homes, with the judges’ outstanding feature the new window over the sink. The award hangs in The Winners; the design story is in Where the Light Lands.

The original kitchen placed the stove between two small rear windows and the sink in the island, leaving valuable space unused and limiting the natural flow of the room. By thoughtfully reworking the layout, we were able to dramatically improve both functionality and visual openness. The stove was relocated to the former refrigerator location, creating a more practical cooking area, while the sink was moved to the back wall where the stove had originally been.

One of the most striking improvements came from replacing the two small windows with a beautiful large window centered above the new sink. This change filled the kitchen with natural light and created a stunning focal point that enhances the entire space.

We also repositioned the island to better define the kitchen’s work zones while maintaining generous circulation throughout the room. The new layout opens the kitchen more naturally toward the adjoining family room, helping the entire area feel connected and inviting.

The result is a DeLand kitchen remodel that feels completely transformed—brighter, more efficient, and designed to bring family and friends together.
