Our clients were happy with their kitchen’s floor plan and wanted to keep the granite countertops, so painting the cabinets was the perfect starting point for updating their kitchen. Adding a new glass tile backsplash and upgrading the island with paneling adds architectural interest and lightens the palette of the entire space. New light, wide-plank wood flooring replaces the previous mix of wood and tile flooring in all the living spaces, and the pretty gray paint color is now carried through from the dining and living spaces into the kitchen and family room beyond. The plant shelf in the living room as well as a niche in the kitchen were removed, providing the perfect opportunity to expand the pantry.
