A family firm,
built on one idea
KBF Design Gallery began in 2003 as a family remodeling firm with a conviction that still runs the company: the team that designs your remodel should be the team that builds it. One contract, one standard, one group of people accountable for the finished room — design-build, under one roof.
Two decades later the firm is still family-run and still measured the way it was at the start — by whether the finished work survives a close look. The projects have grown into whole-home renovations across the Orlando area; the idea hasn't changed.
The team that designs your remodel should be the team that builds it. That was the founding idea in 2003, and it is still how every KBF project runs.

The photographed record begins stacking up
The earliest project photography still in this site's archive dates to the mid-2010s — finished kitchens and baths across the Orlando ring, documented at completion the same way we document them today. The record now spans 22 years of project files.
The showroom opens
KBF opens its selections showroom at 1295 South Orlando Avenue in Maitland — a physical gallery where clients stand inside full-scale displays and make real material decisions. The opening was recorded here: when the showroom opened in 2020.
Whole homes, and the work gets noticed
The practice that began with kitchens and baths now regularly carries entire homes through design and construction as one continuous project. The same year, the work appeared in the January 2024 issue of Architectural Digest — the covers are on the shelf below.

Why a design-build firm keeps a gallery
A remodel is decided in the selections — the cabinet line, the stone, the hardware in your hand. The Maitland showroom exists so those decisions happen in person, at full scale, with your designer standing next to you, instead of from a laminate chip and a guess.

Stewardship
The second generation
In 2003 our father, Keith Vellequette, was flipping houses around Central Florida, and he kept hitting the same wall.
A kitchen meant one company for the cabinets, another for the counters, a designer who had never met either of them, and a builder who showed up after every decision had already been made — and then had to live with all of them. Whether the finished room was any good came down to who happened to show up that week.
He opened KBF to close that gap. Design, product and construction under one roof, answerable to each other.
We grew up inside it. Ashley started on the showroom phones on Saturdays. Adam spent high school summers loading deliveries and swinging a hammer on demolition crews. It is a specific kind of education. You learn what a cabinet actually weighs. You learn what is behind a wall when it finally comes down, and how often that is not what the drawing promised.
Keith began stepping back in 2019, and by 2020 he was preparing to sell. It was not an obvious year to buy a construction company. We took out an SBA loan and bought it in 2021.
