Maitland Remodel
This Kitchen’s Story
Our clients built this home in the lovely Dommerich Estates neighborhood of Maitland, Florida in 1986, and were ready to upgrade their kitchen. By removing the peninsula, we were able to create the space for a grand center island as well as a better flow to and from the living area just beyond. The result? The kitchen feels so much larger even though we did not add on to their home. There are so many lovely details, but the main focal point of the kitchen is the custom hood clad in fluted marble – it’s hard to resist the temptation to touch it when you see it! The marble-look quartz on the countertop flows up into the backsplash (and remains uninterrupted by the necessary outlets, which we tucked up under the upper cabinets and into the countertop itself). And why stop there, when your quartz is this fabulous? The waterfall edge on the island adds so much to the sleek design of this kitchen. Opting for a chandelier (instead of pendants) over the island makes a bold statement. The finishing touch is the beverage station with floating shelves and marble, brick-stacked tile. Chef’s kiss!
