Room with a View
The Remodeling Story
Our clients contacted us to remodel their fireplace because they were unhappy with its squatty appearance and disliked the asymmetrical look of having the tv area on one side and a small bar on the opposite side. When our design team saw that this home was situated on a wooded lot with a gorgeous view of the golf course beyond, they asked our clients if they would be interested in forgoing the fireplace remodel and opting for a view and access to a new patio instead. Although they hadn’t considered this option, they couldn’t be happier that they made the decision to move forward with our suggestion! Our design includes French doors with a highbrow window to add as much light and capture as much of the view as possible. We also added beams to the soaring ceiling, which accentuated its height and made the room feel larger. Adding built-in cabinetry and lighted, floating shelves to each side of the doors provides storage and display space. A chandelier to replace the dated ceiling fan elevates the entire room. Outside, we added a paver patio as well as a new Spanish-tile roofline over the doors to add architectural interest. Here’s what our client had to say about the transformation:
We are so thrilled with our family room renovation! We had no idea going into this how different the house would feel and how much more suited to our lifestyle the changes would be. Your design for the space is perfect and your team did an outstanding job making it a reality.
Thank you so much for all you did for us – especially for your patience with our initial indecision and all our questions! We’re so happy we trusted your recommendations – everything turned out beautifully.
